Otinus handheld laser cleaners are compact devices designed for contactless removal of rust, paint, and other contaminants from metal, concrete, or stone. The cleaning process is based on focusing a laser beam on the contamination—the beam evaporates or breaks down impurities, leaving the underlying surface intact.
This technology offers very high efficiency and minimal waste emission, making it an ecological alternative to sandblasting or chemical cleaning. Laser cleaners are used across many industries, from automotive manufacturing to heritage conservation. Thanks to the small heat-affected zone and precise control, contaminants can be removed without damaging the substrate.
Devices are available in several power versions (1–3 kW) and are delivered as a ready-to-use system.
Laser Sources
High-quality fiber laser sources are installed in the cleaners. The standard configuration includes a MAX Photonics source—a company founded in 2004 that specializes in fiber laser technology, offering stable, high-efficiency sources with power levels reaching several dozen kilowatts, known for long service life and excellent beam quality.
Alternatively, a Raycus source can be selected. Founded in 2007, Raycus conducts its own R&D and manufactures lasers for cutting, welding, and marking; its systems are widely used in automotive, aerospace, medical, and electronics industries.
Optional heads, such as the Relfar FWH20-S10A (3-in-1 head), enable not only cleaning but also welding and cutting, allowing a single machine to perform multiple processes.
Laser Power Range
Otinus laser cleaners are available with power ratings from 1000 to 3000 W, allowing precise matching of the device to specific applications. Lower power versions are ideal for delicate and precise cleaning of molds, dies, or historical elements, while higher power models enable rapid removal of thick layers of rust, paint, oxides, and industrial contaminants.
The wide power range makes the machine suitable both for maintenance workshops and demanding industrial environments.
Fiber Technology
The cleaning process is performed using a fiber laser with a wavelength of 1064 nm, which is exceptionally well absorbed by metals. As a result, the laser effectively removes contaminants from steel, aluminum, or copper surfaces without affecting their structure.
Fiber technology ensures high efficiency, low energy consumption, and stable source operation for thousands of hours.
Cleaning Speed
The laser beam can move at speeds of up to 120 mm/s, enabling fast and uniform cleaning of large surfaces. High process speed significantly reduces renovation time, increasing productivity and lowering operating costs.
Thanks to adjustable parameters, the user can precisely adapt the cleaning speed and intensity to the material type and contamination level.
Electrical Power Supply
Models with power from 1–2 kW require a 1×230 V 50 Hz power supply, while the 3 kW version uses a 3×400 V 50 Hz supply to fully utilize the laser source potential.
This configuration ensures stable operation in various environments—from workshops to industrial halls. The power system is protected against voltage surges, ensuring safe operation and long component life.
Enclosure Dimensions
The compact design, measuring approximately 630 × 1300 × 1500 mm, allows easy placement of the cleaner in virtually any location—both in workshops and mobile workstations.
A robust enclosure with transport wheels enables easy relocation while maintaining stability during operation. Compact dimensions combined with high performance make it an ideal solution for companies that value ergonomics and flexibility.
Integrated Cooling System
Each unit is equipped with an integrated water-cooling system that stabilizes the temperature of the laser source and the head. This allows continuous operation even under prolonged load without the risk of overheating.
Water cooling extends the lifespan of optical components and maintains optimal beam parameters throughout the entire work cycle.
Ergonomic Cleaning Head
A lightweight, ergonomic working head with adjustable focal length and a long fiber cable allows easy operation in hard-to-reach areas. Its design minimizes operator fatigue and ensures precise process control.
The head is resistant to high temperatures and contamination, while interchangeable tips allow beam characteristics to be adapted to specific tasks—from surface cleaning to precise paint removal.
Minimal Waste Emission
Laser cleaning is performed without chemicals or abrasives, eliminating the need for waste disposal and significantly reducing dust in the working environment.
Removed contaminants evaporate or detach as fine particles without entering chemical reactions with the material. This is a fully ecological and safe technology, ideal for industries requiring clean processes or indoor operation.
Operation with Shielding Gases
During cleaning, inert gases such as nitrogen or argon can be used to protect the surface from oxidation and improve process quality. The choice of gas depends on the material type and contamination characteristics.
The use of shielding gases increases efficiency, reduces discoloration, and delivers a perfectly clean surface without additional finishing.
